Applicants must be a Manatee County high school senior who plans on attending or is currently enrolled in a college, university, trade, or vocational school. FREE Historic Anna Maria City Tour Now Available
The Historic Anna Maria City Tour brochure is now available in the Anna Maria Island Historical Society Museum's gift shop. The brochure guides tour-takers from the Rod & Reel Pier to the Sandbar Restaurant, stopping at historical sites along the way, such as the City Pier, Roser Cottage, and the Historic Green Village. AMIHS Launches YouTube Channel
In conjunction with the AMIHS Museum's new exhibit, the Historical Society launched a YouTube Channel that features dozens of oral histories from Island residents. Here is a small sample of what this channel has to offer. In this video, Ernie Cagnina talks about the Old IGA, which he ran from 1946 to 1994. This video is particularly interesting because it was filmed in 1991 and viewers can see inside the old grocery store before it closed only a few years later. Hear all


Visit Our Always Changing Exhibits...
Renovations on the Anna Maria Island Historical Society Museum have been completed and the new exhibit will open on October 13, 2015. The new exhibit preserves the character of the original one, but is updated with new information and never before displayed objects. The new exhibit better preserves the objects and enhances accessibility. Visitors will now enter the museum through the front door and exit through the giftshop.
